We are overjoyed to welcome you to Mt Calvary MBC Tougaloo! Whether you’re joining us for the first time or returning after a while, we are thrilled to have you as part of our church family.
At Mt Calvary MBC Tougaloo, we believe in creating a loving community where everyone is embraced just as they are. Our doors and hearts are open to individuals from all walks of life, and we are united by a common desire to grow in our faith and share God’s love with one another.
Statement of Faith
We believe that acceptance of Jesus Christ and the corresponding renewal of the mind through the work of the Holy Spirit are the only paths to salvation for lost/sinful men and women. (John 3:16; John 5:24; Titus 3:3-7)
We believe that every individual is important to the kingdom of God because the image of God is stamped on every individual. It does not matter what side of the track you come from, it’s not the color of your skin, not whether you are learned or unlearned, rich or poor. We believe in justice and Justification, a ‘serving’ salvation, and sanctification. We believe Jesus died for all; therefore, you are important to God and His family. We believe that our role as a church is to equip disciples to make more disciples so that the effectual work of evangelistic engagement may continue until Christ returns to take us all who believe home. Our Pastor
Pastor Stafford was born and raised in Mississippi. At age 8, he dreamed he would 'help heal people in their heads.'
Pastor Stafford was set out to become a Neurosurgeon based on the dream he shared with his pastoring father. Little did he know God was orchestrating & ordaining a divine outcome of healing – both the head and the heart of humanity! In this providential prodding he met his wife, LaTonya, while serving in ministry at New Hope Baptist Church in Jackson MS. They have been married for over 14 years, and God has blessed them with 2 Beloved Sons, Marcus and Josiah.
